Jesus selects His examples carefully to address all of the reasons we fail to trust God.
The birds of the air reveal God’s bounty exists all around us. We just need to search diligently rather than strategize and fall back on our own resources. He will reward our efforts with what we need and show us His provision.
We cannot change reality by worrying about our problems and inability to resolve them. Instead, we can rely on God to supply everything we need to accomplish His plan. We all have a part to play in His kingdom – some large and some small.
The grass of the field helps us understand that God takes care of the least significant aspects of His kingdom. He designs things with more beauty than anyone would have imagined. We cannot undersell ourselves to God’s provision. No one is worthless to Him. Like the grass, which cannot move, we must depend on Him to provide for us wherever we find ourselves. Don’t fall for the “grass is greener on the other side” myth. He cares for all His creatures.
We can trust that He will supply whatever we need and more so.
Worry is a problem that resolves itself in time. We only worry about the uncertain future. Give God time to demonstrate His power rather than demand answers from Him today.
